Overview of project

Multi-sector relief programme including: Rapid emergency water and sanitation and health response, provision of Primary Health Care; Health and Hygiene promotion; Safe water provision; NFI distribution; to assist in reducing morbidity and mortality in vulnerable populations of Southern Sudan.

Responsibilities

Manage the implementation of Medair Southern Sudan water and sanitation projects and to ensure that beneficiary participation is enhanced in all phases of the project. Anticipate, plan, initiate and share in the development of new WatSan proposals. Manage and train local WatSan staff.

Qualifications

·         Higher level qualification in water and sanitation (technical)

Experience

·         2 years minimum experience post qualification, in home country or overseas

·         1 year minimum in a position with staff management responsibilities

·         Able to work independently as well as being a strong team player

Medair standard working requirements for the field

  • Minimum 12 months professional experience in a relevant field
  • Minimum time commitment of 1 year
  • Committed Christians and strong adherence to Medair values
  • Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions
  • Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty
